Farewell Shuttle Discovery

Space Shuttle Discovery left the Kennedy Space Centre (KSC) for the last time yesterday. Heading to the Smithsonian  Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center near Dulles International Airport The shuttle flew 3 circuits over the Mall in Washington DC, resulting in a few to observe that this is the most attention washington has paid to the space programme in decades.

Discovery will take the place of the Shuttle test vehicle ‘Enterprise’ while the latter is headed for New York’s Intrepid Air and Space museum where it will be placed temporarily on the flight deck of the USS Intrepid until a more permanent facility is built.
